About Us

The All Saints Parish spans the southern end of the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation. The Pastor lives in Eagle Butte, and from there also serves 7 other churches on the Reservation, variously located within 20-80 miles. The other churches located within the boundaries of All Saints Parish are: Immaculate Conception (Bridger), Sacred Heart (Dupree), Sacred Heart (Red Scaffold), St. Catherine's (Promise), St. Joseph's (Cherry Creek), St. Joseph's (Ridgeview), and St. Theresa's (White Horse). The All Saints Parish now encompasses a cluster of churches, each having a complex and varied history, yet the formalized beginning of a locally operated Catholic Church institution for this area can be traced back to 1901, when Fr. John Vogel became the first resident priest at the Old Agency on the Missouri River.

The All Saints Catholic Church of Eagle Butte was founded in 1910, incorporated in 1911, and Fr. John Vogel became its first resident pastor in 1912.
